New York and was promoted to Senior Vice President, then as Co-Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Joint General Manager; Joint General Manager for the Securities Business at SMBC in Tokyo Head Office, and then General Manager for that department.

Bungo has a Bachelor of Science in engineering from Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan.
