SMBC group has acted as advisor and mandated lead arranger on a variety of ports projects through Europe, Middle East and Africa and beyond. Projects have included:

• Oil Terminals
• Container Terminals
• Mixed ports
• Acquisition financing of port companies

In December 2005 the bank closed the financing for a major new container terminal in Spain for a client in the sector. SMBC group has also financed ports in Russia, the UK, the UAE, North and South America and China.
