SMBC group is an experienced financial advisor and lender in the aircraft finance market. The SMBCE London office acts as a structurer and lender to clients active in Europe, Russia, Middle East and Africa, and gives worldwide support to clients based in those regions.
The Aircraft Finance Group is responsible for providing structured finance solutions to airlines, airframe and engine manufacturers, lessors and various other players in the aviation industry. The Group has in-depth knowledge and extensive experience with all aspects of aircraft financing, including the ability to evaluate aircraft values by employing a highly sophisticated quantitative analysis model co-developed with our Corporate Research Department.
Working together with other departments and groups within SMBC group, since 1987 we have consistently remained an industry leader in Europe by providing a wide range of products such as the Japanese Operating Lease, which is currently the most popular tax lease solution for financing aircraft.
The London team consists of five aviation professionals with many years of experience. This team is supported by the aircraft team at SMBC Tokyo, who underwrite equity for the Japanese Operating Lease product as well as supporting the business in the Asia-Pacific region.
