This Group is responsible for the structuring and execution of Structured Credit and Securitisation related products for customers and on behalf of SMBC Europe Division.
In December 2005 the Group closed its first transaction, Profile I. This was a KfW intermediated partially funded securitisation of £383m of PFI assets.
Securitisations for 2006/7 under process include:
- Middle East Project Finance - $1bn
- LNG Ships - up to $1bn
- Profile 2 – for UK & European PFI/PPP deals - up to $800mn

Active Portfolio Management (ACPM) is a key part of good banking practice. The Group will play an active part in the development of APCM within Europe Division, using correlation and other modelling techniques to achieve AIRB (Advanced Internal Ratings Based) Credit Risk Capital Management in FY 2007/8.
