In 1971 we opened a Branch in Düsseldorf in order to finance Japanese corporates´ business in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, and also in order to serve German, Swiss and Austrian Companies which have activities in Japan and act as contact and marketing office for products related to Financial Institutions such as Yen-custody and Yen-clearing business. Today, our Branch in Düsseldorf is still active in both areas and provides value added services in the field of corporate finance, Trade and Export Finance – with and without ECA cover of Hermes, ÖKB and ERG – Foreign Exchange, and M & A advisory services. As a full Branch of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp, we are able to provide large scale credits – including arrangement of syndicated loans and underwriting of large amounts. We have recently joined publicly recorded large scale transactions such as Deutsche Telekom AG, Syngenta AG as well as Mobilcom AG. Special knowledge is available to advise clients on investment financing programmes for investments in Japan such as financing schemes of Development Bank of Japan as well as cover possibilities with regard to MITI and JEXIM.
