In March 2009, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation ("SMBC") reopened its Representative Office in Mexico, to maximize and foster on-site client relationships and to continue offering comprehensive and highly integrated financial solutions through the advisory, structuring and seamless implementation of different financing alternatives in Mexico and abroad.

The Representative Office acts as a regional hub covering Mexico and Central America and supports the operation of not only Japanese and Asian corporate, but the other clients with focus in the power, oil & gas, petrochemical, telecommunications, automotive, infrastructure and mining sectors and so on.

SMBC offers its clients financial services in a number of areas of expertise such as corporate lending, trade finance, structured finance and financial advisory.
