Manufacturers Bank was formed by a group of banking entrepreneurs in June 1962, in downtown Los Angeles, to serve the robust apparel industry. In 1981, it was acquired by former Mitsui Bank, one of the predecessors of SMBC. Today, nearly 50 years later, our scope has expanded to be the business bank of choice for middle market and professional service companies. Our vision is to be the premier regional business bank in the California marketplace that provides the sophistication and expertise of a larger institution with the personal high touch services of a smaller bank.
